ABOUT LEWIS

Lewis Wynne, is a 5 year old boy, from Alexandra in Johannesburg. On 14 October 2011, his life was changed in a flash… sitting in his Grade R class at Carter Primary School,  the tree felling took a wrong turn and one of the trees outside Lewis’s classroom,  fell on the classroom, and on top of him, causing him to lose both his lower legs. He was rushed to hospital, but his legs couldn’t be saved.

Thanks to Eugene Makhene and the Assault Riderz Bikers club, he received a wheelchair, which has given him some mobility. But the factory turned house they live in, is not wheelchair friendly at all, and most of the times, Lewis has to be carried around.

Before the accident, this little Brave Heart, had a dream of becoming a Policeman, serving the community of Alexandra, now he dreams of becoming a doctor, helping people, the way he was helped.

Both his parents, Ntswaki and Kenneth Wynne, are unemployed and devastated by the accident. He has 2 brothers, age 12 years and 3 months, and a 10 year old sister.

With the help of Eugene, Lewis has now been accepted at Hope School, Parklands, a school specializing in his needs where he will be a weekly boarder as well.
